United Kingdom Releases Itinerary for Tinubu’s March 17–19 State Visit
The government of the United Kingdom has released the official programme for the state visit of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, scheduled to take place from March 17 to 19.
According to the itinerary, the visit will be hosted at Windsor Castle and will feature a series of ceremonial engagements, bilateral meetings, and interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK.
Preparatory activities for the visit will begin on March 17, including security sweeps, road closures, and rehearsals for the official procession ahead of the president’s arrival.
President Tinubu is expected to officially arrive on March 18, where he will be received by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales.
A ceremonial welcome ceremony will follow along Datchet Road, featuring the playing of the national anthems of Nigeria and the United Kingdom as well as an inspection of the guard of honour.
After the ceremony, the Nigerian leader will participate in a carriage procession to Windsor Castle, where he will be formally received by King Charles III and Queen Camilla as part of the official state visit programme.
