TWO SERIAL PICK-POCKETS NABBED IN OGUN,NARROWLY ESCAPED JUNGLE JUSTICE

Nemesis on Tuesday caught up with two notorious and serial pick-pockets in Abeokuta,Ogun State Capital following their apprehension after robbing a passenger.
The 2-man gang confessed to the crime after they were apprehended in Oke-Ilewo area of the town. The duo had successfully removed money from their victim.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that, the two suspects in a joint operation, had stolen the sum of N40,000 from a passenger who they boarded same taxi cab with from Kuto to Oke-Ilewo-Lalubu axis of the town.
It was reliably gathered that, within a short distance of the trip, the suspects successfully removed the money of the innocent passenger , who was ignorantly sitting in between two of them.
The account has it further that the suspects,Yusuf Babatunde and Kazeem Olorunwa having carried out the operation resolved to disembarked from the taxi cab before reaching earlier proposed destination.
However, luck ran against them, when their targeted victim immediately realised that, his money had been stolen by the gang and immediately raised alarm as the duo disembarked from the cab.
In a twinkle, the suspects took to their heels in different directions, but were pursued by passerby, and eventually apprehended and brought back to the scene of the crime,where they were dealt with by angry mob.
At the scene as witnessed by our correspondent, the suspects were beaten mercilessly by the mob. The mob were calling for used tyre to set them ablaze, when police arrived.
Apparently, realising the danger ahead,one of the suspects, Kazeem Olorunwa confessed to the crime, explaining that the gang monitored the victim from the bus stop,and decided to enter same taxi cab with him.
‘We saw him at Kuto bus stop, and when he called a taxi cab going to Oke-Ilewo, we also resolved do same and sat at the back seat with him, before we smartly removed his N40,000, but we have returned to him after our arrest’,he said.
Meanwhile, 40 minutes after the apprehension the suspects who were surrounded at the crime of the scene, which a stone throw to the popular Arowora newspapers stand at Oke-Ilewo, police team from Ibara Police Station drove in and whisked away the suspects.
