Tinubu’s SSA on citizenship appoints two DGs, five media aides

Nasir Ja’oji, the senior special assistant (SSA) to President Bola Tinubu on citizenship and leadership, has appointed directors-general on political matters and media and digital communication to work in his office.
In a document containing the appointments seen by TheCable, Ja’oji appointed Ibrahim Farouk and Ahmad Saleh as DGs on political matters and media & digital communication, respectively.
He also appointed five other media aides, including a special assistant media, a technical assistant for media, a media aide I, a media aide II, and a media aide III.
Those appointed are Muhammad Sabiu Adam (special assistant media); Abbas Uba (technical assistant media); Mustapha Yusuf Waziri (media aide I); Usman Shuaibu (media aide III); and Safiyanu Mohammed Yunusa (media aide III).
In the document that he signed by himself, Ja’oji said the appointments were made on integrity, an excellent record of performance and hard work.
In most government offices, a director-general usually holds a higher authority than an SSA. This has raised questions about why an SSA would be creating a DG position under his office.
The president’s aide had made a series of appointments since he assumed office.
In August, Tinubu appointed Ja’oji as the SSA on citizenship and leadership to replace Rinsola Abiola, who was elevated to the position of DG of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC).
a’oji had previously served as special adviser on mobilisation to Abdullahi Ganduje, former governor of Kano.
The development has elicited comments on social media. THECABLE
