Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary With 10.99 Million Votes

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged as the winner of the 2026 presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), securing the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.

The final results announced at the APC national collation centre in Abuja showed that Tinubu polled about 10.99 million votes across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to defeat his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who garnered 16,504 votes.

The direct primary election was conducted in 8,809 wards nationwide, with party officials describing it as the APC’s first nationwide direct presidential primary.

Results announced during the state-by-state collation indicated overwhelming support for the president in several states. In Rivers State, Tinubu secured 280,082 votes while Osifo recorded no vote. In Gombe State, Tinubu polled 450,517 votes as Osifo again failed to secure any vote.

In Akwa Ibom State, the president also recorded a strong showing with 389,197 votes.

Following the declaration of the results, APC leaders are expected to formally present Tinubu with the party’s certificate of return and flag as its presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
