Ilejemeje LG Chairman Condemns Alleged Self-Kidnapping Involving Vice Chairman
The Executive Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government, Hon. Pius Alaba Dada, has condemned the alleged involvement of the council’s Vice Chairman in a self-kidnapping arrangement, describing the incident as shocking, disturbing, and unacceptable.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, Dada said the Vice Chairman had reportedly been apprehended by relevant security authorities over the alleged act.
The council boss stressed that his administration remains committed to transparency, integrity, peace, and the protection of lives and property within the local government area.
He condemned all forms of criminality, deception, and misconduct capable of tarnishing the image of the government, insisting that no individual is above the law regardless of political status or position.
According to him, the law must be allowed to take its full course without interference.
Dada also commended security agencies for their professionalism, swift investigation, and commitment to justice in handling the matter.
He urged residents of Ilejemeje Local Government to remain calm, law-abiding, and avoid spreading unverified information capable of creating tension within the area.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, public trust, and the protection of the integrity of public office at all times.
