Tinubu Vows Not to Let Nigerians Down, Reaffirms Commitment to Reforms and National Unity
President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, pledging that he will not fail the citizens as his government continues to implement sweeping economic and political reforms.
Speaking on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President stressed that the well-being of Nigerians remains his top priority. He noted that longstanding structures hindering national prosperity are being dismantled and replaced with systems designed to promote inclusive participation in the economy.
Tinubu assured the delegation that his administration would sustain reforms aimed at improving the lives of poor and vulnerable Nigerians. He also emphasised the importance of citizen engagement, stating that broader participation in shaping the country’s future would lead to long-term societal benefits.
The President urged the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation efforts, describing them as “the conscience of a nation” determined to break free from poverty and hopelessness.
Reiterating his commitment to democratic principles, Tinubu underscored the importance of the rule of law, separation of powers, and respect for the judiciary. He called for unity in pursuing a shared national vision, insisting that collective effort is the only path to sustainable development and prosperity.
Addressing criticism from opposition elements, the President dismissed attempts to discourage his administration, expressing confidence in Nigeria’s future under visionary leadership. He maintained that reforms, though challenging, are necessary to reposition the country for growth and development.
Tinubu also pledged unwavering support for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, promising to stand by them as they carry out their mandate across the country.
Earlier, Governor Uzodimma, who also serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, briefed the President on the group’s progress, highlighting ongoing grassroots engagement, data collection, and mobilisation efforts nationwide.
Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari commended the President’s courage in pursuing difficult but necessary reforms, noting that such efforts often face resistance in their early stages. He assured Tinubu of continued support from political stakeholders in the North-West region.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, several state governors, and other key political figures.
The engagement concluded with renewed assurances of loyalty and commitment from the delegation, as well as calls for continued public support for the administration’s reform agenda.
