Yusuf Buhari Declares Interest in Katsina Reps Seat, Meets Governor Radda Ahead of 2027 Elections
In a significant political development ahead of the 2027 general elections, Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari has officially declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Daura/Sandamu/Mai’adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Yusuf Buhari made the declaration on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, at the Government House in Katsina. The visit featured a high-level delegation comprising political figures, traditional leaders, community representatives, and stakeholders from across the constituency.
Leading the delegation, Hon. Musa Haro, District Head of Dumurkul, described the aspirant as a committed and visionary young leader with a strong sense of duty to public service. He noted that Yusuf Buhari’s ambition reflects the collective aspiration of the people of Daura, Sandamu, and Mai’adua for inclusive governance and effective representation.
Haro also commended Governor Radda for his leadership style and people-focused policies, stating that the visit aimed not only to introduce the aspirant but also to seek the Governor’s support, guidance, and blessings.
Also speaking, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, who represents Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, expressed confidence in Yusuf Buhari’s capacity to deliver responsive representation. He stressed the need for unity within the APC and urged party members to rally behind credible candidates.
In his remarks, Fatihu Muhammad highlighted the aspirant’s leadership background and readiness to serve, emphasizing his vision to empower youths, drive grassroots development, and improve constituents’ welfare.
Community representatives from the constituency also voiced strong support, describing Yusuf Buhari as a unifying figure capable of bridging generational gaps. They pledged their full backing and called for collective support toward his candidacy.
The Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, applauded Yusuf Buhari’s decision to enter the race. She underscored the importance of youth participation in governance and described the move as reflective of a new generation of leadership focused on innovation and inclusivity.
In his response, Governor Radda welcomed the delegation and praised Yusuf Buhari’s interest in public service. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fairness, unity, and internal democracy within the APC.
The governor advised the aspirant to remain humble, engage widely with stakeholders, and uphold integrity throughout the political process. He also urged party members to maintain peace and cohesion as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
