Tinubu Begins 10-Day Working Vacation in Europe
President Bola Tinubu has commenced a 10-day working vacation that will see him spend time in France and the United Kingdom.
The trip, which started on September 4, 2025, forms part of the president’s annual leave and is intended to offer a short break from the rigours of office. However, the presidency clarified that the visit is a “working vacation,” meaning Tinubu may still hold diplomatic engagements and attend to official matters while abroad.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the president will return to Nigeria at the end of the 10 working days to resume his regular duties.
In Tinubu’s absence, Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to oversee key responsibilities to ensure government activities continue smoothly.
The European trip follows the president’s recent foreign missions to the United Arab Emirates and Brazil, where he took part in a South-South cooperation summit.
