The Six months I spent In Correctional Centre Has Not Diminished My Desire To Serve – Kalu
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu representing Abia North Senatorial District has said that the six months he spent in Keju Correctional Centre; Abuja, has not diminished his desire to work for the people of Abia North in particular and Abia State in general.
Fielding questions from reporters at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri. on Monday, Kalu who was received by a crowd on his way to his home town, Igbere in Bende LGA of Abia State, said dividends of democracy to the people of the Abia North zone continued unhindered even while he was in incarceration.
Kalu was jailed in December 2019 by Justice Mohammed Idris on a corruption charge. The Supreme Court, however, upturned the verdict in May this year on the grounds that the judge had no jurisdiction to pass the judgment.
The former governor submitted that though he was away in confinement, the zeal to work for the people remained sacrosanct, pointing out that all the projects he had attracted from the Federal Government were being executed without interruption.
