Jegede Drops Dep. Gov Agboola Ajayi From Running Mate List

It has become clear that the gubernatorial candi­date of Peoples Democrat­ic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, would not pick the incum­bent Deputy Governor Ag­boola Ajayi as his running mate.

Jegede on Monday submitted names of two members of the party to the leadership of the par­ty in Akure, the state cap­ital, for it to pick one of them as his running mate.

The persons on the list submitted by the PDP’s standard bearer for the October 10, 2020 guberna­torial election in the state were Gboluga Ikengboju and Mrs. Banke Sutton.

This development, however, put to rest the rumour that the PDP’s candidate was consider­ing picking the incum­bent deputy governor as his running-mate.

Jegede emerged victo­rious with 888 votes at the Wednesday party’s prima­ry while the incumbent Agboola Ajayi, came sec­ond with 657 votes.
