Sule Lamido visit Obasanjo in Abeokuta

One of the Presidential aspirants under the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Sule Lamido, on Monday visited the former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to sought his support for his ambition.
Lamido in an almost two hours closed-door meeting with the former president at his Abeokuta presidential residence, later told journalists that there were despair and poverty across the nation, which called for urgent intervention.
He said, “Yes, I am aspiring and as a result, I must discuss that with my father, Baba Obasanjo.
“In Nigeria, when they say who is Baba’s son(Obasanjo’s son), they say it is Sule Lamido. And as a result of this, I have only come to my father to seek guidance and as well talk about Nigeria, and to still tap from his wisdom about Nigeria.”
Talking about the situation in the country, Lamido said that he could “see poverty and despair in the faces of the people, in fact, I see there is no hope for this country.”
The former governor expressed his happiness at the gale of defections to the Peoples Democratic Party, arguing “in a political party what you need is followership and when people are coming into your own party, you should be happy and even celebrate.”
