Senator Goje will be arrested if he fails to honour our invitation – Police
Police have threatened to arrest Senator Danjuma Goje, if he refuses to honour its invitation.
The Senator is expected to explain tp the police what a file allegedly containing “write-ups” on the assassination of an Islamic cleric in Kano State in 2007, Sheikh Ja’afar Mahmud Adam, was doing in his house.
The threat of arrest Goje was made Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, CSP Jimoh Moshood, in Abuja.
Officers from the Force Headquarters (FHQ), Abuja, last Thursday, raided the No. 10 Haile Salasie Street, Asokoro District home of the Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District.
The development had formed the basis of the Senate’s decision at Wednesday’s Plenary to suspend work on the 2017 Appropriation Bill, as it had alleged that documents relating to the yet-to-be-passed budget were carted away during the raid.
But, contrary to the Senate’s position, the Police have insisted that none of the documents recovered during the April 20 operation, bore the insignia of Budget 2017.
In a statement by Moshood, the Police said the raid led to the recovery of 38 files and six envelopes.
