Rescheduled Polls: AIG Oyebade meets with CPs ……assures adequate security

…..warns potential trouble makers
Ahead of the rescheduled Presidential and The National Assembly Elections slated for Saturday, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI comprising Osun, Oyo and Ondo States, AIG Leye Oyebade, mni has assured members of the public of adequate security of lives and properties before, during and after the rescheduled general elections.
This was contained in a statement made available to news men by the Police Public Relations Officer,, PPRO,  Zone XI , SP Adekunle Ajisebutu
According to the statement, Oyemade  “gave this assurance tat a strategic meeting held with the three Commissioners of Police in the zone ahead of the forthcoming elections
‘While directing the CPs to ensure robust security in their respective State Commands, the AIG assures of adequate protection for INEC officials, electoral materials, local and foreign observers/monitors and the electorate whom he enjoined should go out and exercise their franchise without fear of intimidation or molestation
‘While promising that the police would be professional in their conduct, Oyebade warns that decisive actions will be taken against anyone who may want to cause violence and truncate the electoral process’
The Police advised potential trouble makers to have retrace their steps or in the alternative to voluntarily relocate from the zone as there would be no hidden place for the execution of their nefarious activities in the zone under his watch .
