Renewed Hope Ambassadors Hail Tinubu’s Northern Projects, Dismiss Claims of Neglect
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) have defended the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the Federal Government has delivered major transformational and developmental projects across Northern Nigeria in fulfilment of campaign promises made to the region.
In a statement issued after a media tour of ongoing Federal Government projects in the Northwest geopolitical zone, the group dismissed allegations in some quarters that the Tinubu administration had failed to keep faith with the North.
The tour, conducted in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team, covered projects from Zuba Junction in the Federal Capital Territory through Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Kebbi states.

According to the RHA, the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Works, embarked on 260 Special Intervention Projects nationwide, with the Northwest zone receiving 48 projects — the highest among the six geopolitical zones.
The group said the projects were evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to the development of the North, noting that they would improve transportation, boost agriculture and trade, and accelerate economic growth.
Among the projects inspected was the ongoing reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway, where concrete pavement and solar-powered streetlights are being installed.
The RHA said Section 1 of the project, spanning 82 kilometres from Zuba Junction to beyond Jere and handled by Infiouest International Construction Company, was virtually completed except for about 300 metres, while work had commenced on Section 2 with completion expected in November.
In Kaduna State, the delegation inspected the Kaduna Western Bye-pass, a 21-kilometre dual carriageway that had reportedly been abandoned for more than 22 years. The project is said to be about 50 per cent completed.
The group also highlighted the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project linking Northern states to neighbouring Niger Republic, describing it as one of the administration’s most iconic infrastructure projects.
According to the statement, the flyover bridge being constructed in Kaduna as part of the trans-Sahara rail project is expected to be completed by December 2026.
In Kano State, the RHA said the Kano axis of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway had reached 95 per cent completion.
The delegation also inspected projects at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, including the Cardiovascular Centre, Pediatric Centre and Students’ Hostel, described as constituency projects facilitated by Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.
Other projects visited in Kano included the N27 billion irrigation project in Garko, a solar energy project of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, and a 10-hectare Agricultural Incubation Centre built by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure at Bayero University.
The group also inspected the headquarters of the North West Development Commission located along Murtala Mohammed Way in Kano, as well as a N47 billion ecological fund project in the Wujuwuju-Jakara area aimed at erosion control.
In Jigawa State, the RHA said work on the Jigawa section of the Kaduna-Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project was virtually completed.
The delegation further visited the Kebbi section of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, covering Phases 2A and 2B from kilometre 120 to kilometre 385, where construction activities including site clearance, stone base work and concrete pavement installation were ongoing.
According to the statement, completion levels for Sections 2A and 2B stood at 40 per cent and 16 per cent respectively.
The group maintained that the scale of projects under construction across the Northwest and wider Northern region showed that the Tinubu administration had remained committed to the development of the region.
“Seeing is believing; those alleging the present government has not been fair to the North in terms of development projects can also go round and see for themselves,” the statement added.
The statement was signed by Tunde Rahman, Director of Media and Publicity, Renewed Hope Ambassadors.
