President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Afriland Towers Fire Outbreak

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in Tuesday’s tragic fire outbreak at Afriland Towers, located on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also commiserated with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited — all of whom had personnel or operations affected by the inferno.

President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the incident and sympathized with the injured, who are currently receiving medical care. He acknowledged the pain of families grieving their loved ones and offered prayers for the souls of the departed.

Commending the swift response of emergency personnel, the President praised the Federal Fire Service, first aid responders, medical teams, and concerned members of the public for their prompt intervention and bravery during the evacuation.

While expressing gratitude for their efforts, the President also stressed the need for greater caution, continuous training, and increased alertness to prevent similar emergencies in the future.

“May God Almighty receive the souls of the departed and grant a speedy recovery to the injured,” the President prayed.
