Police officers arrested for aiding criminals to escape from custody

Some police officers has being apprehended over allegedly helping Ten suspected kidnappers and armed robbers escape from detention at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Benin, Edo State.

Though details surrounding the incidence are still not clear as sources said some policemen, who aided the escape of the criminals has been arrested on the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Kokumo Johnson, and are expected to face orderly room trial.

Some residents express worry over the incidence stating it shouldn’t be taking lightly

“This is a very serious issue that must not be swept under the carpet.”

” They should be thoroughly investigated and anyone found culpable should be brought to book.
