By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA
Luck ran out on two robbery suspects who were on their way to robbery operation along Awa Ijebu – Ijebu Ode expressway as they were apprehended by men of Ogun State Police Command.
The two suspects, Odukoya Ayomide, 32 years old and Abiodun Oyenuga aged 32 were accosted on August 25th, 2020 when the DPO Awa Ijebu, CSP Adewalehinmi Joseph were on routine patrol of the area.
The suspects who were on motorcycle quickly jumped down on sighting the policemen and took to their heels, but were chased just as one of them, Ayomide was apprehended with a locally made cut to size double barrel gun while the second suspect escaped through the nearby bush.
The arrested suspect informed the police on interrogation that his fleeing partner was the person who invited him from Ijebu Ode for robbery operation and that they were just going to carry out the operation when they were accosted by the police.
The useful information obtained from the arrested suspect led the police to Sagamu, where Abiodun Oyenuga his fleeing partner was arrested on the 28th August 2020.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Edward A Ajogun has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to Special Anti Robbery Squads (SARS) for discreet investigation. The CP therefore warned those who are criminally minded to leave the state as the command will make it too hot for them under his watch.
