Polaris Bank Pledges commitment as Unity Cup debut in Ikoyi Club

Polaris Bank has thrown its weight behind; the Unity Cup Golf Championship, a tournament put together to cement the unity of the country.
Speaking at the pre-tournament media briefing in Lagos on Friday, Polaris Bank Acting Managing Director/CEO, said the Bank is pleased to associate with Ikoyi Club 1938, adding that the sponsorship of the tournament underscores the Bank’s conviction on the role of sport and golf in particular, in enabling national unity and socio-economic growth.
‘We are excited to partner with the golf section in hosting this tournament. Our conviction stems from the fact that Ikoyi Club, golf section, is a foremost golf association in Nigeria and hence provides us the platform for bonding, business and social good”,.
Represented by the duo of Bukola Oluyadi, Acting Group Head, Customer Value Management & Strategic Communication and Nduneche Ezurike, Head Strategic Brand Management, the Polaris CEO said the bank is committed to any endeavor that bring unity and bind people for good.
Expressing delight at the partnership, the Captain of the Golf Section, Dr. M.I Okoro thanked the Polaris Bank for hee support for the tournament, while expressing optimism that the partnership will strengthen the already existing relationship between the bank and Ikoyi Club community.
“We are quite happy with the support of Polaris Bank because no matter how good an idea is, it requires funding to succeed. And that is why we are happy because when we approached Polaris Bank for support, they saw the vision and obliged us”, Okoro said.
While explaining that current challenges been faced in the country necessitated the birth of Unity Cup, he explained that gathering golfers from across the country in Ikoyi will creates the ideal atmosphere of bonding required to keep Nigeria as one.
The three-day event will see golfers arrive on Thursday, March 25th and tees off on Friday March 26th to Saturday March 27th. The events closing ceremony holds Saturday evening with a gala night and prize presentation.
The tournament is expected to draw over five hundred golfers drawn from across the country to Ikoyi Club 1938.
