People without second income have no business in politics – Alake tells youth group

The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has declared that Politics is not for people who do not have a second profession other than being a politician.
Oba Gbadebo made the statement while receiving a non-profit organisation known as ‘Ogun What Is Next 2021’ at the Ake Palace, Abeokuta on Wednesday, 4th of August, 2021. 
Alake further noted that Nigeria needs politicians who already have enough to fend for themselves not people who would get tempted to divert what is meant for the public to their personal pockets.
He also advised the ‘Ogun What is Next’ Group to propagate what is actually the next thing to do in Nigerian politics, which they have discovered as youths.
The ‘OgWN 2021’ Association which aimed at engaging Nigerian youths in active politics is to hold a Conference in commemoration of United Nation’s International Youth Day on the 13th of August 2021. 
The Programme with the theme: “The Role of Youths in Electioneering Process,” is to start from 9AM and end by 4PM. 
Oba Gbadebo assured the Group of his royal presence at the occasion.
He charged members of the group to  strive to remove the odium of portraying that nothing works in Nigeria.
He added that everyone wants to leave Nigeria, even if it is through slavery, which he described as  bad.
Alake tasked Youths also look into the issues affecting the Country and think of the way forward.
He said that talks about the areas of general concern that will make the country better should be crux of their attention and advocacy.
Oba Gbadebo appreciated the ‘Ogun What is Next’ Group and prayed that they achieve great success in their mission.
Earlier, Hon Olamigoke Ogayemi, the Group’s Covener disclosed that ‘Ogun What Is Next 2021’ had set out to engage Nigerian Youths in active political responsibilities.
Hon Ogayemi added that the Group cut across the 3 Senatorial Districts of Ogun State and had decided to pay Alake a courtesy visit, being the Paramount Ruler of their host community.
He said they had also come to introduce the platform to Alake and seek his Royal blessings.
He further intimated the Alake that a programme would come up at Conference Hotel, Ibara Abeokuta, on Friday, August 13, in commemoration of United Nation’s International Youth Day. 
Hon. Ogayemi lamented the poor involvement and participation by  Nigerian youths in politics.
He identified the urgent need for the Group to actively engage youths to join political parties and perform their rights as citizens. 
He further appreciated that Egba Apex Monarch for his warm reception and royal advise. Other members of the ‘Ogun What is Next’ Group present at the occasion included Mrs Anuoluwapo Akinhanmi – Secretary General, Mr Faloye Ayobamigbe, Mr Atanda Titilope, Mr Ololade Ogayemi, Miss Oluwatosin Hamina, Mr Tiyamiyu Mojibola, Mr Bashua Dara, Mrs Sodiq Abiodun, Mr Adeyemi Oluwaseyi, and Mrs Aisha Whyte.
Egba High Chiefs present at the occasion included Osi of Egbaland – Chief Bode Mustapha, Aare Egba – Chief Ganiu Babayeju, Chief Olumide Shonekn – Odole of Egbaland, Chief Wole Odekunle – Bada AsojuOba, Lisa Egba, Bantun Egba – Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, Aare Bobagunwa – Chief Victor Adebayo, and Chief Layi Labode – Aare Baaroyin Egba.
