GOCOP Condoles Enugu Commissioner, Malachy Agbo, Over Mother’s Death
The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mrs. Laurita Nwakaego Agbo, mother of the Malachy Agbo, describing her as a woman of faith, humility, and service to humanity.
In a condolence message signed by GOCOP President, Danlami Nmodu, and General Secretary, Sufuyan Ojeifo, the association said it received with profound sadness the news of the death of Mrs. Laurita Nwakaego Agbo (née Ortuanya), who passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu.
The body noted that Mrs. Agbo lived a life marked by generosity, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of others, adding that her impact on the Ohodo community and Amufi village would remain unforgettable.
GOCOP stated that the late matriarch was not only a devoted Catholic and loving mother but also a pillar of strength whose philanthropic activities touched countless lives.
According to the statement, tributes from family members, associates, friends, and community leaders reflected her peaceful disposition, deep faith, and selfless commitment to humanity.
The guild acknowledged that her passing has created a huge vacuum for the Agbo family but urged them to take solace in the enduring legacy of kindness, guidance, and motherly counsel she left behind.
GOCOP prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and asked God to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The association also assured the commissioner and his family of its prayers and solidarity as preparations continue for her funeral and burial rites.
