Osun Government To Support GS Farm On Poultry Farming

As part of efforts to reduce unemployment rate, Osun State Government has assured GS Farm Nigeria Limited of its support in the area of promoting poultry farming across the state.
Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Adedayo Adewole
stated this when he visited GS Farm company at AISU area, Owode-Ede and Ojo farm, Ara/Ejigbo road to inspect the infrastructures put in place to develop poultry farming business.
In his admonition, he commended that the nature of infrastructures put in place by the farm was worthy of emulation by other partners in the business in order to move job seekers out of the street.
Areas visited in the company were fumigation room, storage room, hatchers room, transfer room, egg setters among others.
Speaking earlier, Managing Director GS Farm Nigeria Limited, Yemi Ajijolaiya sought the support of government in the area of providing outgrower facilities during plant processing which the company would be starting soon.
He further appealed to the state government to provide facilities that will help a lot of farmers around to grow the business. He hereby used the occasion to encourage poultry farmers in the state to embark on broilers rearing which has more protein and profitable.
While speaking, the Chairman, Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Osun State chapter, Olukiran Oluyemi applauded the efforts of GS farm, stressing that the farm is a good investment and that it is a pride for the state to have that kind of project.
He added that because the farm has everything required like breeders, hatchers, incubators, among others to hatch day old chicks from broilers.
Oluyemi further appealed to the poultry farmers in the state that instead of going all the way to Ibadan for day old chicks, they should patronise GS farm for quality day old chicks.
