Oriade Council Boss Donates 10 Hectares of Land For International Fish Market

For donating ten hectares of land for the smooth take off of Specialised Agricultural Produce and Fish International Market at Ijebu-Jesa, the Commissioner for Agricultural and Food Security, Hon.Adedayo Adewole has commended the Chairman, Oriade local government area of State of Osun, Hon.Ezekiel Olubunmi Obeisun.

The council boss donation is to complement the collaborative initiative efforts of Agricultural Traders Welfare Association (ATWA) and Federal Ministry of Industries, Trade and Investment over the siting of the market in the state.

According to a release by the ministry press officer, Segilola Babalola, the commissioner made the commendation during the stakeholders meeting held in Osogbo to kick start the laudable project in Osun.

He stated: “Hon. Obeisun, in line with the integral action plan and vision of the present Administration of Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, released and prepared 10 hectares of land at ijebu-jesa for the smooth take off of the project.”

Furthermore, Hon. Adedayo appreciated the unalloyed and unquantifiable efforts of Otunba (Dr) Gabriel Emiola Ogunsanya, the National President, National Fish Association of Nigeria, and the Executive Director of the Feg. Agro Farms Niger Limited, Ijebu-jesa, who also is the present Southwest Regional Coordinator for ATWA for deeming it fit against all odds, to bring the project to the State of Osun, despite the yearnings and competition from virtually all other states in Southwest.

Speaking earlier, the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Oluwabukola Aluko rolled out some of the benefits derivable from the project if properly implemented to include provision of jobs for teeming youths in the state and other neighbouring states.

“Boosting of internally generated revenue of the state, availability of market for locally produced agro-products, export opportunities for local agro produce such as fish, reduction of crime level with the provision of jobs for the youths,” he listed.
