Operation Kosaye Restores Public Confidence, Makes Ogun, Lagos Hostile to Kidnappers – Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has praised the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Olatunji Disu, for initiating the joint Ogun-Lagos security operation, Operation Kosaye, describing it as a proactive and intelligence-driven initiative that has significantly improved security across both states.

The governor said the operation has recorded remarkable successes through coordinated security efforts, including raids on forests and criminal hideouts along the Ogun-Lagos corridor, the neutralisation of armed bandits, the arrest of criminal suspects and the rescue of kidnapped victims.

Abiodun noted that the achievements of Operation Kosaye have restored public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force while reinforcing the commitment of security agencies to protecting lives and property.

He added that the sustained offensive against criminal elements has made Ogun and Lagos increasingly hostile to kidnappers, bandits and other violent criminals seeking to exploit border communities as safe havens.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies through the provision of logistics, operational support and technology to strengthen policing across the state.

According to him, continued investment in security infrastructure, surveillance technology and operational mobility has complemented the efforts of the police and other security agencies in maintaining peace and order.

The governor also commended the Commissioners of Police in Ogun and Lagos States, CP Bode Ojajuni and CP Tijani Fatai, as well as officers and personnel involved in Operation Kosaye, for their professionalism, courage and dedication, describing their efforts as instrumental to the operation’s success.

Abiodun stressed that the initiative has demonstrated the importance of collaboration, intelligence sharing and coordinated inter-state action in tackling emerging security threats.

He urged other states to adopt similar collaborative security frameworks to prevent criminals from exploiting state boundaries.

The governor reiterated that protecting lives and property remains a top priority of his administration and pledged continued investment in logistics, technology and other operational resources to strengthen security across Ogun State.

The commendation was conveyed in a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the Ogun State Government, Hon. Kayode Akinmade.
