The traditional ruler of Ile- Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is set to inaugurate a Non-Government Organisation,with the aims and objectives to preserve history,culture and heritage of Africans both at home and abroad.
The group known as Roots and Heritage Renaissance Culture Initiative,RHRCI,is said to have over 1,000 membership across the globe.
The President of the organisation,Dotun Taylor in a statement on Wednesday,said the project will be inaugurated on October 29, at Oranmiyan Hall of Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
He said,the royal father is the grand patron,adding further that,the inauguration would also be used to celebrate 40 years existence of the Festac 77.
‘The project will also birth a film about the mask to draw global attention to its historical significance and call for its repatriation to Nigeria from Britain’,he said.
Taylor also added that,the launch, which will be hosted by popular Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, will see the conferment of honour on veteran comedian,Moses Olaiya,popularly known as Baba Sala and Prof. Toun Ogunseye among othersdistinguished Nigerians who have immensely contributed to country’s history.
He disclosed that, a popular event planner, Fitilah Entertainment would served as official organiser of the project.
