President Tinubu Celebrates Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi at 70
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to High Chief Olayinka Fasuyi, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland and Founder/President of Ibadan Business School, Ibadan, on the occasion of his 70th birthday, which falls on October 25, 2025.
In a congratulatory message issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Chief Fasuyi’s outstanding contributions to national development, education, and community empowerment.
The President described the celebrant as a distinguished management consultant who has served with excellence in several multilateral and bilateral organizations, including the World Bank, the African Development Bank, and various government agencies.
President Tinubu lauded Chief Fasuyi’s visionary leadership in transforming Ijesaland through initiatives such as the Ijesa Community Development Assembly (ICDA) and the Ijesa Development Fund (IDF), noting that his efforts have significantly enhanced the socio-economic and infrastructural landscape of the region.
“This milestone is not just a celebration of years lived, but of impact made, legacies established, and a life wholly dedicated to the service of God, community, and our dear country,” the President stated.
“At 70, you stand not only as the Asiwaju of Ijesaland but also as a great achiever whose ideas, vision, and accomplishments resonate with our national quest for progress. You embody the timeless truth that one person, armed with vision, faith, and courage, can transform the destiny of a people,” he added.
President Tinubu further commended Chief Fasuyi for his unwavering commitment to public good and community upliftment, emphasizing that both Nigeria and Ijesaland take pride in his achievements.
“As your President, I salute you. Nigeria and Ijesaland are proud of you. Posterity will forever remember your name among the rare breed of men who lived not for themselves, but for the upliftment of others,” the statement concluded.
