On Seun: The Vulture Does Not Know The Price Of A ‘Horse’

Endsarsists and their Obidient soul mates may not know it, but their newfound patriotic grandstanding over Seun’s misadventurous slap of a policeman, provides fitting antithesis to a time-honored Hausas saying: ‘angulu bai san kudin doki ba’!
Meaning ‘the vulture does not know the price of a horse’s! Because if it does, it should mournfully -rather than gleefully- feed from its dead remains, -reserving some sympathy at least, for the owner’s tragic loss!
But kudos yet to the vulture, although it is an opportunistic carion-eater, at least it is not known to murder its victim before gorging on it. The vulture is patient enough to wait for its victim to drop dead, before it helps humanity recycle it!
But now we see that the ‘vultures’ of Endsars are proving that they do in fact know the price of a ‘horse’. And although they were worse than the vulture (killing their horses themselves before eating them), it is ironic now they cannot even stand to see a horse being whipped!
“How wonderful” said Shakespeare “when the devil speaks the truth”! Now that it involves an inverterate enemy (Seun), whose pound of flesh they desperately seek, suddenly they know the dignity of the Nigerian Policeman and the sanctity of his uniform.
It is the “symbol of the State”, one was straining the Queen’s English to educate me. Another was harping on the inviolability of the ‘police person’, and why Seun must not be allowed to get away with laying his ‘filthy’ hands on the the body of “those who secure us”!
And I was like: ‘Really?’
Well, there’s no need whipping a dead horse! Seun has committed what obviously is an offence. And it is my view too, that he should face the law. And as ‘provocation’ is a valid defense against the offense of assault, good luck to him if he can prove it!
But let those who premeditatedly and unprovoked-ly killed, made bonfires, prepared, roasted and openly ate policemen on duty, or the very hypocrites who either cheered them on, or looked the other way, just shut the ‘F’ up!!!
This is no moral high ground that they are qualified to approach, let alone dare to want to climb! Tut Tut!!
