Ogun Police launches investigation into sudden death of a fresh graduate

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the sudden death of a 20-year-old recent graduate of Information Technology from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo.

According to security and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, security sources revealed that the deceased, identified as Akawa Boluwatife Samuel, was brought to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital by his roommates on Wednesday, where a doctor on duty confirmed him dead.

Police detectives who visited the scene reported that one of the roommates, Adili Leonard Chimdindu, said Boluwatife had complained of feeling cold and experiencing difficulty breathing on July 27. He was advised to seek medical attention at the university’s clinic.

Chimdindu added that they were on campus to finalize clearance procedures in preparation for graduation and that Boluwatife had intended to travel home shortly.

He also mentioned that Boluwatife had appeared fine the previous night, playing games on his laptop until around 11:00 p.m., but was found unresponsive the next morning.

The police documented the scene, took photographs of the deceased, and recorded a statement from his elder brother, Akawa Toluwanimi John.

The body has since been deposited in the university morgue for autopsy and preservation, as the investigation continues to uncover the cause of death.
