Ogun Labour Party Drags Gov. Amosun To Court Over Road Construction Projects

Ogun State Chapter of Labour Party(LP) has dragged the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to court over road construction projects embarked upon by his administration since inception.
In the suit number AB/156/2016 filed at High Court Abeokuta,the party also joined Attorney-General of the state and Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure as respondents.
The applicants include ; Comrade Arabambi Abayomi(Chairman,LP),Oginni Olaposi(Secretary),Olufunmilayo Oginni and Sabur Aroyewun.
In an enrolment of order/motion ex-parte brought on behalf of the applicants for an order,the court granted an order of mandamus directing and compelling the respondents jointly and severally to allow the applicants access to the information on all road projects awarded by the Ogun State Government from inception of the administration till date.
The court granted that information shall include; name of contractors that handled all road constructions in all three senatorial districts,the cost of the road contracts and expected date of completion of each road project.
The case is coming up for hearing on Wednesday, January 25,2017 before Justice Mobolaji Ojo at High Court 4,in Abeokuta
The certified true copy of the enrolment order available with our correspondent reads,’Order as prayed. Leave is granted to the applicants to bring an application for an order of mandamus,pursuant to leg 3 of the motion paper. Return date is Wednesday,25th January,2017
