Ogun Athletes Will Not Disappoint At National Sports Festival In Edo- Commissioner Expresses Confidence

As the 20th National Sports Festival (NSF) in Edo State is fast approaching, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Kehinde Oluwadare has assured sports loving people in Ogun that athletes would do everything possible to represent the state well at the festival.
The Commissioner gave this assurance in a chat with Daily Dispatch on Monday after watching trial session for squash athletes held at squash court, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
Hon. Oluwadare who expressed satisfaction at the performance of the athletes during the trial noted that he has strong believed with what he witnessed at the trial that the athletes are capable of winning gold medals and make the state proud in Edo State.
“With what I have seen so far, I have seen people who probably have the experience and it is my hope that by the time they probably finished their trial, we should be able to select athletes that are capable to represent the state well at the festival. With this our level of arrangement, we should be able to get the gold.
“It is our agenda and to compliment the efforts of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to achieve the ‘Building our Future’ agenda, So the mandate is to ensure that at least all the sectors are carried along and it is one of his five points agenda.
“It is to see that this sector is also alive. We are doing everything possible within our capacity to ensure that we carry everybody along and it is our desire that one day, we will get to the promise land.
While responding on when the state contingent will start camping exercise, he admitted that preparation is the mother of confidence. “We are confidence that every other things are ongoing and the government is doing everything possible so as to claim our pride of place among the comity of states.
“So, I want to assure the good and sports loving Ogun people that as a responsible and reliable government, we will do everything possible for our athletes and officials to represent the state well at the festival in Edo State.”
