Ogun APC Youths Organise Freedom Walk For Governor Abiodun

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Youth League, Ogun State Coordinate on Tuesday organised Freedom Walk in Abeokuta to commemorate the one year anniversary of ugly incident that occurred during Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun electioneering campaign.
The one day freedom walk which stretched over ten kilometers beginning from Ori Omi in Abeokuta North local government, through Totoro area and finally ended at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, in Abeokuta South local government area.
Youths across twenty local government areas numbering over two thousand, and national executives of the youth league participated in the event, while the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oluomo Olakunle and Special Advisers to Governor were among the discussants at the event.
Speaking on the essence of the walk, the state coordinator of the youth league, Comrade Olamide Lawal hinted that the ceremony was to celebrate the one year anniversary that Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun escaped several attacks, oppression and intimidation during electioneering campaign on February 11th, 2019.
Comrade Lawal, who also is the Special Adviser to Governor on Youths said: “Thank you very much, today is the day that we have decided to glorify God. It could be recalled that last February 11, 2019, we faced several intimidation, attacks oppression during the campaign of governor Abiodun.
“The hallmark of it was when President Muhammadu Buhari and others were stoned at MKO Abiola stadium, Abeokuta by thugs. If you google the news, what you generate did not beautify the state. To God be the glory, we are there.
“Today, we are celebrating where they thought we will not be able to reach, but God put us there. That is the reason for celebration.”
While responding on the kind of advise to the youths, Lawal said: “My message to the youths is that they should be tolerant and not to be too ambitious, they should give room for peaceful coexistence among themselves.”
