NNPCL cuts petrol price to ₦815 per litre in Abuja
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again reviewed the pump price of petrol downward at its retail outlets.
Findings on Monday showed that NNPCL stations in Abuja are now dispensing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at ₦815 per litre, representing a ₦20 reduction from the former price of ₦835 per litre.
The new price has taken effect at several NNPCL filling stations across the Federal Capital Territory, including outlets in Wuse Zones 6 and 4, the Keffi–Abuja Road corridor, and along the Kubwa Expressway.
However, NNPCL’s revised price still exceeds that of Dangote Refinery-backed MRS stations, where petrol is currently sold at ₦739 per litre nationwide. The lower MRS price follows recent downward adjustments in gantry prices linked to the Dangote Refinery.
The latest cut is part of a series of price reviews by NNPCL in recent weeks. On December 19, 2025, the company reduced the pump price of petrol by ₦80 to ₦835 per litre.
Industry observers say the ongoing adjustments reflect intensifying competition in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, as major suppliers revise gantry prices.
Meanwhile, motorists are keeping a close watch on filling stations amid expectations of further changes in petrol prices.
