Nigerians Want At Least A Minute Video Clip of Buhari Holidaying In London To Douse Death Rumour

Omooba Risawe
Nigerians have tasked the Presidency on need to send at least a minute video coverage of President Muhammed Buhari holidaying in London to douse tension over his speculated bad health and death.
The cross section of them made the suggestion on a social network, penpushing platform, arguing that, the controversial picture where Ogun State Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun and unidentified woman visited him in London was not convincing enough.
The participants on the famous platform also declared that, the media team of the president was not doing enough, stating that, that was the reasons, prompting rummoured dwindling health position of Buhari becoming to thrive across the world.
A participant, Kazeem Olowe on his reaction said he prayed the President back on his seat soon, but observed that with the picture released,he was not convinced that all was well in regards Buhari’s health.
His words ‘The leave will soon end and I pray to see the president back on his desk. But its annoying to see all these. Any objective minded person will surely know that all is not well’.
‘In as much as I do not expect President Buhari not to fall sick, I am against the ‘hide and seek’ strategy of his media aides on his health status and true state of things. When you conceal the truth, you will surely give room for speculation’,he added.
Olowe further argued that,if all is well with the president, there would no be reason for some governors and others rushing to see him(Buhari) in London.
‘If nothing happens to our president, all of them would not have been rushing there to see him to pose for ‘selfies’.
A minute video call can safe this country all these noise and wasting of scarce resources by ‘travelling’ to go and see the President’,he added.
‘I maintain my stand that something is not just right. May Almighty be with the President and his household, guide him right for him to come and fix the country’,Olowo emphasised.
Another vibrant contributor on the platform, Kayode Akinsola posited that, many developments occasioned the suspicions of Nigerians, which he said include, governors summoning emergency meeting.
He said ‘When the governors are summoning emergency meeting, some said they want to visit him. Nigerians would not have become this worried if not because of Adesina’s stance that President is at liberty to speak to Nigerians or not. A video call would have resolved these issues’.
But in his own view, Sulaiman Fasasi said it was not news that governors met, stressing that, it is a normal procedure for them to meet, stressing that even if they(governors) chose to meet Buhari in London,it make no difference.
Hear him ‘Governors meet all the time and I don’t remember reading it on any credible newspaper that the purpose of the meeting was to visit him. Even if they chose to meet him in UK, what difference would that make?’.
‘After all many people had in the past met on vacation of this nature; Tinubu, Amosun, Awujale, Atiku and many others who might not be brought to public attention’,he added.
‘Let me tell you, many people were swayed because of a fake report that Buhari was dead as if such news could be ‘killed’ in countries like UK. The last time the man was on vacation, our comedian in Chief of Ekiti State said he has traced Buhari to a facility where he was hospitalised that he was dying, many gullible Nigerians fell for the politics’.
‘Like Adesina said, we have a President in Nigeria and that is Professor Osinbajo even if in acting capacity, why must anyone then force someone on vacation to talk all because of a fake publication?,Fasasi emphasised
Also contributing, Ola Animasaun said for those faulting the president outfit when visited by Governor Amosun, saying same dress was found on him in another photograph he took with Atiku Abubakar, he said Buhari has choice to look casual and wear any cloth of his choice.
‘Good that there should be an understanding that the President have the choice of the casual to spot when he wishes. Also glad to hear that Gov. AMOSUN is in London. I think the dots are now getting connected. If the time -frame is still in doubt, then it is not beyond the inquisitory power of anybody with vested interest’,Animashaun posited.
But, Yemisi Fadairo was of the opinion that the issue should be rested by now, tasking journalists to conduct indepht investigation,to ask if truly the governor was in London to see the president.
‘I thought the PMB issued has been rested. I have been expecting respected members on this platform, particularly journalists, to ask if truly the governor is in London, like an online publisher, who woke me from sleep earlier today, professionally did’,he stated.
Fadairo while speaking on the casual outfit of the president, that some turned to issue, pointed out that, Buhari is known not to be a flamboyant person, explaining further that,as individual, we all have casual outfits such that we wear.
‘But to shed more light on that, we all have casual outfits, such as that, that we wear indoors. PMB, we all know, is not the flamboyant type that will flaunt new/different outfits just for such occasions’,Fadairo stressed.
A former Nigerian Ambassador,Folake Marcus- Bello, one of the elders on the platform, in her own submission, said Nigerians should stop disparaging the president.
‘As professionals that we are, and as leaders that we are, that everyone looks up to us through our pens, can we stop disparaging the President of our beloved country’,she said.
‘President Buhari is in for a four year term. Please realize that it is THE PRESIDENCY and not The man of the moment President Buhari that we destroy. Why? can we not wait till Tuesday? Why can’t we have brilliant reportage of deep investigative journalism? Why should a journalist be cutting and pasting and making jokes?’,she said
‘Please do not misunderstand me, what I am asking for is true hard work journalism-investigate all stories and then give us issue based reports. I thank you and good morning’,Marcus-Bello declared
A clergyman, Olusesi Obateye, who is also a participant on the platform, expressed his view, saying,’that photo of the President sent to Nigerians who made him their President, and wanting to know real health situation of their President is the most unthinkable reaction to Nigerians’ request’.
In the same vein,Akinyemi Alawiye said, ‘I agree absolutely that media handlers are not doing enough on this health issue of Mr President. They need to be more proactive on this matter for Nigerians to know the true state of things’.
In her own submission, Oluremi Olugbenro called for forensic analysis of the picture, to ascertain it’s authenticity,’If the time and authenticity of the pictures are in doubt, there is need to seek the intervention of experts’
