NIGERIA CUSTOMS GENERATES N5BILLION IN OGUN WITHIN ONE YEAR

Ogun State Command of Nigeria Customs Service,(NCS),said it has generated the sum of N5,717,736,240,38 in the last one year,and also put Duty Payment Value of goods within the period as N1.4billion.
The Area Command Comtproller,Sani Magudu made this known  at the customs headquarters in Idiroko,border town of Ogun State.
He gave details of activities and revenue profile  of the command between January to December,just as he emphasised that,customs would continue to make smuggling unattractive to the smugglers.
Madugu said during the period,the command successfully impounded 520 vehicles,adding that,the said vehicles were recovered within Abeokuta and Idiroko axis of the state.
‘The command within the last one year generated ‎over N5billion ,recovered 520 vehicles,while the Duty Paid Value is N1.4billion’,Madugu said.
The customs boss also disclosed that, the command as at the time of filing this report‎ was in possession of 19,000 bags of seized rice kept in the warehouse,adding that,11,990 were already assigned to be transfer to the Internally Displaced Persons,IDPs,camp.
Speaking further,Madugu declared that, the command would continued to make the state not condusive for smugglers.
‘We are monitoring smugglers second per second. We are on top of the situation,and we shall continued to give them a good fight’,he emphasised.
