FOREIGN COMPANY TO TRAIN OGUN YOUTHS ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME
An International Development Company, Foreign Trade and Investment Services Africa,has concluded arrangement to trained 500 of youths and students in Ogun State.
The Project Coordinator of the body, Dr Cliff Ogbede in a statement made available to Dailydispatch ,said the training will in return lead to award of City and Guilds of London Institute certificate.
He further added that, the programme was in collaboration with the state government,while the duration would be six months.
The coordinator said the project is slated for early January,and that,the international skills and entrepreneurship programm willoffers a wide range of skills training designed to afford the youths an opportunity to acquire practical skills in line with industry needs.
‘A comprehensive training and skills development program has been designed for the teeming youths and employees in Ogun State’,he emphasised.
Ogbede added that,the program,, offers a wide range of skills training designed to afford the youths an opportunity to acquire practical skills in line with industry needs.
‘Upon completion, participants will obtain qualifications that are recognized by the government’,the coordinator said.
He said the training is being organized in conjunction with Ogun State Government through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
He also disclosed that,on completion of the training outstanding trainees would go to Europe for internship programme,while the young entrepreneurs will be empowered with start-up funds.
“Upon completion of each academic session, outstanding trainees will also be offered immediate internship program in our partner organisations in Europe, while the young entrepreneurs will be empowered with start-up funds through our foreign partners and the OGSG/Bank of Industry loan scheme’, Ogbede explained.
He expressed confidence that the scheme would create highly talented workforce for the industrialization of the state and the country in general.
‘The package will provide skills towards improving manpower development, job creation and attract beneficial foreign direct investment in Ogun State’,he added.
He disclosed that,courses to be offered include, digital technology, engineering, building services, beauty, hospitality and catering, travel and fashion as well as health care.
Ogbede emphasised that trainees would be selected from all the wards in Ogun State,explaining that thetraining will run in two batches in a year and prepare qualified students to undertake either the May/June or Nov/Dec City & Guilds of London certificate examinations.
