NGO Celebrates 79th Birthday of Namibian President in Nigeria

An international non-governmental organisation (NGO) known as The Mighty One Empowerment Foundation (TEMOEFA) has celebrated the 79th birthday anniversary of an African legend and pan-Africanist, Dr. Hage Geingob, who is also the President of the People’s Republic of Namibia, today, at the Embassy of Namibia in Abuja, Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Barika Saro-Laka who is the founder of TEMOEFA, said legends and African patriots are better celebrated whilst alive as it affords the celebrant the opportunity to participate in such events and to be motivated to offer more services for the benefits of humanity than only when such legends were dead.
He described President Geingob as a great performer who has increased the access of his people to energy for production and industrialisation as well as promoted the inclusion of the vulnerable populace in Namibia. By this style of leadership, Dr. Saro-Laka added, Namibians have become fulfilled for voting him twice at the polls.
He prayed God to increase the president’s days on earth as well as grant him wisdom and strength so as to serve Namibians and the world with more vigour and zeal, noting that Africa has a global icon of impact in Dr. Geingob, whose maximum capacity would unfold with time.
Responding, the Namibian envoy to Nigeria, Ambassador Humphrey Geiseb, thanked the NGO for the surprise gesture of remembering the Namibian president’s historic day and for the prayers offered for his continuous success in office.
He called on the NGO to partner with his embassy in helping to deepen the robust bilateral relations between Nigeria and Namibia as well as in wooing foreign investors to Namibia, which he described as a peaceful and safe haven for multi-lateral investments and fertile ground for obtaining huge returns on investments.
According to the Ambassador Geiseb, the government of Namibia is ready to approve incentives to investors willing to do business in their country and extends the best wishes of President Hage Geingob to the good people of Nigeria, assuring of more mutually beneficial ties between the two countries. The envoy added that “Presidents Hage Geingob and Muhammadu Buhari have posted outstanding achievements in office and displayed uncommon passion in serving their people and in uplifting the African continent while these feats and virtues have earned them the respect of other global leaders.”
The Namibian envoy noted that Namibia seeks partnership from organisations in the private sector and governments and their agencies as it plans to export salt, canned beef, and other mineral products to African countries as it has done, over the years, to Europe and America.
