NDDC Appointment: Edo NUJ congratulates Odubu as chairman

ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY

Rt. Hon. Pius Odubu has been congratulated over his appointment as the Chairman of the board, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) by Ptesident Muhammadu Buhari led All Progressive Congress (APC) government.

Odubu, the immediate past deputy governor of Edo State became the first indigene from the state to be appointed as chairman of the NDDC since its establishment about two decades ago.

The leadership and entire members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council in a press release jointly signed by the state chairman of the Union, Sir. Roland Osakue and his secretary, Titus Akhigbe congratulated Rt. Hon. Odubu on his appointment.

Similarly, the Union commended President Muhammadu Buhari for deeming it fit to appoint an Edo son as the Commission boss. “This is the first time ever an indigene of the state will be appointed into such a laudable position, and we sy thank you Mr. President.”

Furthermore, they affirmed that Odubu’s appointment was clear indication that Mr. President must have been impressed by his achievements as deputy governor under the government of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who is now the National Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The Union, however urge Odubu to see the appointment as a call to national service and should use the position to attract development to Edo ad other Niger Delta States.

“The council also urge Odubu and his team to continue with their selfless service to human development and work hand to hand with Mr. President to stop the current insecurity in Nigeria. Be rest assured that Edo NUJ will partner with you and your team to deliver the goods,” they opined.
