NCC unveils draft spectrum roadmap for 2025–2030

….Seeks Stakeholder Input

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has published a draft National Spectrum Roadmap detailing its regulatory outlook for the planning, management and assignment of radio frequency spectrum from 2025 to 2030.

Prepared under the provisions of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, the roadmap sets out a forward-looking framework to guide spectrum planning in support of Nigeria’s broadband expansion, digital economy growth and innovation agenda.

The Commission clarified that the document is strictly a consultative guide and should not be interpreted as legal, investment or licensing advice.

According to the NCC, the roadmap aims to improve regulatory certainty, encourage optimal use of spectrum resources and ensure alignment with global best practices amid rising demand for wireless and digital services.

The NCC has also called for comments and submissions from telecommunications operators, government institutions, broadcasters, satellite service providers, equipment manufacturers and other relevant stakeholders, stressing that contributions from the consultation will shape the final policy direction.
