Minimise accidents on highways, ASTPA charges FRSC

The President General (PG), Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, Anambra State Towns’ People Association (ASTPA), Chief Arinze Anadu has enjoined the officers and men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to do everything legitimately possible to minimise the ever increasing road accidents in Nigeria’s roads and highways.

Anadu who said that accident prevention fell into one of their core duties gave the advice to the Corp members when his former secretary in ASPA, Ngozi Chukwujekwu and others who were recently promoted were decorated recently in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Although, he admitted that the FRSC has been trying in its mandate, but was quick to add that it would go a long way, if they culd put more effirts in discharge of their duties at night, even as he advised the ASTPA former Secretary to in her best this time around she has been elavated which if done, according to him would earn her more ranks and recognitions. In appreciation for her new tank of Chuef Route Commander of the FRSC, the former Secretary of ASTPA said that her new promotion would motivate her to selflessly do more in duscharge of her duties.

Earlier in an interview, the Assistant Corps Marshall (ACM), Zone 7, FCT and Niger State, Shehu Mohammed said that promotion was assignment into more responsibilities. For that he advised all those who were decorated, as a result of promotion, to ensure that they live up to expectations.

Responding to more questions, ACM Shehu Mohammed said that what they put into consuderstion to give promotion to the beneficiaries were dedication, loyalty and hardwork. Others according to him were ability to pass through the examinations, interviews, yearly assessments for four years.

Responding to more questions he defended seriously that in the FRSC, they didn’t encourage any form of extortion, how much more to receive bribery for promotion. “In FRSC, we don’t encourage extortion, bribery and corruption. All those who are promoted today merrited it. There is nothing like bribery here,” ACM Shehu Mohammed defended.
