Kwankwaso Vs Ganduje
By Mamuda Ya’u Dan’sarki
The big question many people are asking is: Why is Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso delaying his return to the APC?
The answer is simple — he knows who is waiting for him inside: Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Kwankwaso has a history of pushing away Ibrahim Shekarau whenever they cross paths in the same political party. This has been possible largely because of Shekarau’s easy-going and simple approach to politics, which Kwankwaso often takes advantage of:
✅ In 2014, he displaced Shekarau in the APC.
✅ In 2019, he weakened Shekarau again in the PDP.
✅ In 2023, even in the NNPP, he pushed Shekarau aside.
But Ganduje is a different ball game. Unlike Shekarau, Ganduje is a tactical, resilient, and highly strategic politician — a hard nut to crack. He plays politics with patience, alliances, and grassroots maneuvering that make him stand out.
It’s no surprise that powerful political leaders like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu keep Ganduje close on the national stage. In politics, especially at the national level, you don’t just need popularity — you need strategy, negotiation skills, and survival instincts. Ganduje has proven to possess all three.
Kwankwaso knows this truth. Fighting Ganduje from within APC would be a war of equals, not an easy takeover like with Shekarau. That’s why Kwankwaso is weighing his options carefully before making any move.
But will Kwankwaso risk entering APC and clash with Ganduje, or will he remain outside to protect his political brand?
