Kwankwaso visits Atiku, may dump APC
Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso on Saturday night paid a visit to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.
The visit, it was gathered might not be unconnected with the plan by Kwankwaso to finally dump the All Progressives Congress with a view to join forces with Atiku ahead of the 2019 general elections.
It was also gathered that the former governor of Kano State had waited patiently for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to hold its national convention to enable him decide on his new political direction.
Kwankwaso arrived Atiku’s residence at about 8.30pm and went into a closed door meeting with the former Vice President which lasted for about 45 minutes.
The details of their meeting was however not made public even as a source close to the meeting tried to divert attention by saying that the visit of Kwankwaso was to pay Sallah homage to Atiku, who was not in the country during the Eid El Fitr celebrations.
It was further gathered that both leaders used the occasion of the visit and closed door meeting to discuss the state of the nation.
Media aide to Atiku, Mazi Paul Ibe later confirmed the visitation but declined to discussed details of the discussion between Atiku and Kwankwaso.
