Kogi SGS lauds Abejide over N710m donation to 71 Yagba communities

The Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), Dr. Folashade Ayoade, has commended the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Elder Leke Abejide, for donating ₦710 million to 71 communities across Yagba land.

Speaking with journalists on Friday, Dr. Ayoade described the intervention as unprecedented and a clear demonstration of quality and people-centred representation. She said the gesture stands out as one of the most remarkable acts of philanthropy in the history of Okun politics.

According to her, the donation underscores Elder Abejide’s commitment to grassroots development and welfare, noting that such largesse is rare among public office holders. She described the lawmaker as a “divine leader for Yagba Federal Constituency,” whose leadership has brought tangible benefits to the people.

Dr. Ayoade also recalled the support she received from the federal lawmaker during the construction of her orphanage home, the Folashade Ayoade Initiative for Widows and Women, saying his assistance further reflects his passion for humanitarian causes.

Expressing satisfaction with Abejide’s representation at the National Assembly, the SGS said the lawmaker has “written his name in gold in the hearts of the people of Yagba land” through his consistent interventions and community-focused projects.

She urged him to sustain his purposeful leadership and continued service to the constituency, while assuring him of her support and prayers for continued success in his political and philanthropic endeavours.

Elder Abejide’s ₦710 million donation is expected to directly impact dozens of communities in Yagba land, strengthening social welfare and development initiatives across the constituency.
