Kogi records major security breakthrough as arms cache recovered

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has announced a major security breakthrough with the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition from criminal hideouts across the state.

The governor disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists in Lokoja, the state capital. He explained that the successful operation was the outcome of a week-long, sustained intelligence-gathering exercise carried out by security agencies working in close synergy with the state government.

According to Ododo, the joint operation involved multiple security outfits and was strategically executed to dismantle criminal networks and prevent planned attacks within the state. He said the recovered weapons underscore the seriousness of the security threats confronting the state and the importance of proactive intelligence-led policing.

Governor Ododo commended the security agencies for their professionalism and commitment, noting that the breakthrough reflects the effectiveness of collaboration between the government and security operatives. He reiterated his administration’s resolve to sustain pressure on criminal elements and ensure the safety of lives and property in Kogi State.

He further assured residents that investigations are ongoing to track down those connected to the recovered arms, adding that anyone found culpable would be brought to justice.

The governor urged citizens to continue to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains critical to maintaining peace and stability across the state.
