Jigawa Governor, Namadi assures families of those who lost their lives in the tanker explosion of government’s support

The governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi assured that the government will provide support to the over 107 families of the victims of the tanker explosion ttragedy which occurred in Majiya Town and some near neighbouring villages
Malam Namadi who prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed, directed that any injuries beyond the capacity of the state’s general hospitals should be referred to tertiary hospitals, with the government assuming full responsibility for the treatment of all the injured.
Governor Namadi gave the assurance shortly after the over 107 victims who died during the explosion was given mass burial.
A petrol tanker had an accident at Majiya town in Taura Local government area of Jigawa State. The tanker is conveying petrol to Yobe State.
Accident happened around 11:45 pm yesterday and people of Majiya town and some villages around the place came out to siphon the fuel and in the course of that, fire started and consumed many.
The governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar Namadi, his deputy Engr. Aminu Gumel, Speaker of the state house of assembly Rt. Honourable Haruna Aliyu Dan Gyatin were among those who attended the funeral prayer for the dead.
