Ita Enang v Akan Udofia , ORS: Supreme Court adjourns to February 27th for hearing

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has Adjourned till 27th February, 2023 for definite hearing of the appeal by Senator Ita Enang against the judgement of the Court of Appeal which set aside the judgement of the Federal High Court, Uyo and also the Cross Appeal filled by Akan Udofia seeking to be recognized as a member of the All Progressives Congress.

When the case came up Tuesday at the Supreme Court,
Counsel to the parties in the matters agreed to consolidate all the appeals to enable the court hear the appeal of Senator Ita Enang against Akanimo Udofia and also hear a cross appeal of Akan Udofia asking INEC to recognize him as candidate, and also seeking that he be recognized as a member of the APC and not PDP.
Every other appeals, the court said Shall abide by the judgement in the main Appeal and cross appeal.

The Court has however informed all the counsel in the matter that it will abide by its earlier decision that the Federal High Court is one and has a single jurisdiction throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
