Insecurity: Air Peace, Azman suspend flights to Kaduna airport over attack

Two Nigerian flight carriers, Azman and Air Peace have suspended flights to Kaduna International Airport over the recent attack on the facility.

Recall that Daily Dispatch had earlier reported that bandit terrorists on Saturday took over the runway of the airport and killed a security guard who was on duty.

However, the gunmen were repelled by security operatives during a heavy shootout, which led to a delay of a Lagos-bound Azman flight.

The statement reads, “The management of Azman Air will like to inform the general public that we will be halting our operations at Kaduna airport for a few days.

“We understand the security situation around the airport has been handled and normalcy has been restored accordingly, but it is imperative for the management to re-evaluate its operational procedures in the airport to ensure maximum safety of equipment, staff and passengers are fully guaranteed.

“The bedrock of our operations is safety and we will continue to explore every option to aid its delivery to the highest standard.

Also, Air Peace has suspended its operations at Kaduna International Airport over the invasion of the facility by bandit terrorists.

Olisa added that the suspension of flights at the airport is to ensure maximum safety of equipment, staff and passengers are fully guaranteed.
