Indonesia Eyes Nigerian Oil, Gas Assets as NNPC Deepens Energy Partnership
Indonesia has expressed interest in investing in Nigerian oil and gas assets and securing long-term crude oil supply arrangements as both countries move to deepen cooperation in the energy sector.
The Indonesian delegation, led by the country’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Arif Havas Oegroseno, conveyed the interest during a meeting with the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd., Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, in Abuja.
Ojulari received the Indonesian delegation, while he was represented at the engagement by NNPC Ltd.’s Executive Vice President, Gas, Power and New Energy, Mr. Olalekan Ogunleye, who participated in the discussions on behalf of the GCEO.
The engagement focused on expanding Nigeria-Indonesia energy relations and developing a comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership.

The Indonesian delegation indicated interest in investing in Nigerian oil and gas opportunities, including new oil blocks as well as existing producing and near-producing projects.
It also expressed interest in establishing long-term crude supply arrangements with Nigeria.
During the meeting, NNPC Ltd. highlighted investment opportunities across Nigeria’s integrated energy value chain, covering upstream operations, gas, refining, downstream activities, power and renewable energy.
Other areas discussed included shipping, logistics, technical training and capacity development.
The meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral energy cooperation and create opportunities for increased Indonesian investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
