Imam Prays for Tinubu at Matawalle Children’s Wedding, Says Presidency Will Restore Hope

An Islamic cleric, Professor Luqman Zakariyah, on Friday offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the wedding fatiha of the children of the Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, expressing confidence that the President’s tenure would bring hope to the hopeless.

Professor Zakariyah, who officiated the multiple wedding ceremony at the National Mosque, Abuja, described President Tinubu as a father to all Nigerians and prayed for his good health, long life, and success in office.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to grant our President good health, long life, prosperity, and success during his presidency, and that his tenure will bring hope to the hopeless,” the Imam said.

President Tinubu attended the ceremony, representing the Matawalle family, and formally received the brides into the family. The President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, was also in attendance.

At the ceremony, Matawalle, a former Governor of Zamfara State, gave five of his daughters—Maryam, Safiyya, Farida, Nana Firdausi, and Aisha—in marriage, while five of his sons—Ibrahim, Abdul Jalal, Surajo, Bello, and Fahad—also tied the knot.

The officiating Imam further prayed for divine blessings on the couples, wishing them success in their marital journeys and asking God to bless their parents and grandparents.

The event attracted several dignitaries, including state governors, members of the National Assembly, Federal Executive Council members, service chiefs, diplomats, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other well-wishers.
