I’m Not As Controversial As Obasanjo – Osinbajo Declares

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday asserted that he is not as controversial as former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Osinbajo said this while speaking at the 2017 Murtala Muhammed Foundation Memorial Lecture held at the Shehu Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.

The event was graced by personalities such as the Archbishop of Abuja Diocese; Cardinal John Oniyekan, his Sokoto state counterpart; Bishop Matthew Kukah and the FCT Minister; Alhaji Muhammed Musa Bello.

Speaking at the event, the acting President narrated that he attended a summit of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, and a French man asked him if he was related to the ex-President.

Osinbajo said that the man was apparently confused due to the  similarity between his name and that of Obasanjo.

In his response, Osinbajo said, ”Yes, as a matter of speaking.

”I have not managed to become anywhere near as controversial as baba, but give me time as a good soon, I will.”

His comment was greeted with much laughter from the audience including the ex-President himself.
