Ilorin Likeminds Foundation hails Abdulmumini’s re-election as IEDPU President
The Ilorin Likeminds Foundation (ILMF) has congratulated Alhaji Abdulmalik Ayo Abdulmumini (rtd), ACG, on his re-election as the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU).
In a press release issued by the foundation, the President of ILMF, Alhaji Lukman Abdullah Atanda, described Abdulmumini’s re-election as well deserved, attributing it to his outstanding performance and selfless leadership during his previous tenure.
According to Atanda, the renewed mandate reflects the confidence of members in Abdulmumini’s leadership style, which he said is marked by humility, humanity, and uncommon sacrifice. He noted that the IEDPU president has successfully steered the union above internal divisions, positioning it as one of Nigeria’s leading socio-cultural organizations.
“The reward for hard work is more work,” Atanda stated, adding that Abdulmumini’s unassuming and fatherly disposition has strengthened unity within the union and enhanced its reputation nationwide.
He further affirmed that ILMF, a non-political and non-profit organization comprising Dahiris of Ilorin and other accomplished individuals, is proud to be associated with the IEDPU under the leadership of Abdulmumini. He emphasized that the union’s progress remains firmly anchored under the royal guidance of the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR.
Alhaji Atanda also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated 15-man executive council, as well as IEDPU members at home and in the diaspora, on the successful hosting of the 60th IEDPU Conference in 2025. He commended the union for the investiture of distinguished living personalities and past leaders of Ilorin extraction during the conference.
He concluded by offering prayers for divine guidance, asking Almighty Allah to make 2026 a year of unprecedented breakthroughs for the leadership of IEDPU and the Ilorin community at large.
