Ijeru Kingdom Agog As 180th Odun Oba Onpetu Festival Holds Friday

The atmosphere will be charged and the serene environment will agog as sons and daughters of Ijeru Kingdom, Ogbomosho South local government will celebrate the 180th edition of Odun Oba Onpetu Festival.
The event slated for this Friday, February 28th, 2020 is an annual event, and it will hold at Orile Oje ground, while lots of dignitaries and captains of industries, educational sectors, and many others are anticipated to grace the occasion.
According to Onpetu of Ijeru Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, Lagbami Osekun III, he narrated that Odoje festival was an annual celebration of Oba Onpetu traditional rite.
He recalled that the festival was formerly known as Odoje festival, but has since been renamed and Christened as Odun Oba Onpetu, all to the glory of the Almighty God.
Furthermore, Oba Oyediran, who celebrated twenty years on the throne last December emphasised that the festival was an annual celebration which is being used to showcase its traditional values to the outside world.
He added that the period of the festival was a time set aside by Onpetu ancestors to bless the sons and daughters of Ijeru kingdom. He charged them to devote more values at preserving the cultural heritage of the community and Yoruba land in general.
The Monarch hereby called upon all sons and daughters of Ijeru kingdom both home and in diaspora to be present at that historical festival.
